The High Court of Cassation and Justice has ruled, in an appeal in the interest of the law, that a legal adviser employed under an employment agreement or as a civil servant can provide legal representation before the court, without the need to be registered in the professional register of legal advisers kept by the Romanian Colleges of Legal Advisers.
This judgment puts an end to controversial conceptions that legal advisers should be required to be registered within the professional register of the colleges of advisers in order to appear in court and provide legal representation.
