Filip & Company has provided legal assistance to BT Pensii in the process of taking over the management of the voluntary pension fund BRD Medio, which will change its name to Pensia Mea Plus after completing the legal procedures and obtaining the approval of the Financial Supervision Authority (ASF).
The takeover comes in the context of the acquisition of BRD Pensii (the administrator of the BRD Medio and BRD FPAP Pilon II funds) by the Banca Transilvania Financial Group and BT Investments, based on an agreement signed in 2024 with BRD-Groupe Société Générale and Société Générale Assurances.
“We are proud to have supported BT Pensii and Banca Transilvania Financial Group in this pivotal transaction for the Romanian private pension market. This sector is vital for individual financial stability and the Romanian economy. We thank them for their excellent cooperation and trust in our team and are now moving forward with the remaining stages of the transaction”, said Alina Stancu Bîrsan, partner and coordinator of the Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions department at Filip & Company.
With this acquisition, BT Pensii consolidates its position in the voluntary pension segment, managing two pillar III funds, Pensia Mea and Pensia Mea Plus, thus bringing together over 150,000 participants under its management.
