Filip & Company has provided legal assistance to Veranda Obor S.A., the company that owns the Veranda Mall shopping centre, in relation to a EUR 36 million loan granted by CEC Bank.
The facility is intended to refinance the existing exposure, support the project’s development plans, and distribute capital to shareholders. The financing is granted in the context of the shopping centre’s solid operational performance, which has maintained an occupancy rate of nearly 100% in the post-pandemic period, confirming the stability of revenues and the attractiveness of the project for tenants.
“The success of this refinancing confirms Veranda Mall’s performance and highlights the value of a long-term partnership with the Filip & Company team. They have been with us every step of the way, being more than just consultants—they have been partners who understand our vision and give us the security we need to grow. It is a relationship based on trust built over time that supports our future growth plans”, said Alexandru Duduman, CFO Veranda Mall.
“The refinancing of Veranda Mall reflects the maturity of a project that has grown healthily and proven its long-term stability and performance. The transaction confirms financiers’ interest in well-positioned assets with solid results. We were delighted to stand alongside the Veranda team at this important moment and greatly appreciate the trust placed in our team”, said Rebecca Marina, counsel in the Banking and Financial Services department of Filip & Company.
The Filip & Company team involved in the transaction was coordinated by Alexandra Manciulea (partner) and Rebecca Marina (counsel) and included in key roles Alexandru Birsan (managing partner) and Sandra Danciu (associate).
