Legislative proposal to designate 10 May as a public holiday

A legislative proposal recently submitted to the Senate seeks to include 10 May as a public holiday under Article 139(1) of the Labor Code. This day marks the beginning of Carol I’s reign, the proclamation of independence, and Romania’s transformation into a kingdom. The bill is currently undergoing the legislative process in the Senate and has been sent to the relevant committees and the Government for the approval.
