Cristina Filip is Co-Managing Partner and one of the founding partners of Filip & Company. She specialises in Corporate & M&A and Energy, with extensive experience in complex M&A, joint ventures, private equity transactions, corporate reorganisations and major energy projects. She has advised on some of the most significant transactions in Romania, acting for both buyers and sellers.
Highlights of her activity include assisting:
- one of the world’s largest investment managers dedicated to greenfield renewable energy projects in connection with the acquisition of a large-scale wind farm in Romania, covering regulatory, development, procurement, financing, state aid, transaction structuring and restructuring matters;
- Romania’s largest financial group in connection with the EUR 347.5 million acquisition of a top-ten Romanian bank, together with its leasing and asset management businesses and their subsidiaries;
- Romania’s largest alternative investment fund in connection with the sale of minority shareholdings in several major Romanian electricity distribution and supply companies to an international energy group, in a transaction with a total value exceeding EUR 100 million;
- the owners of a major international tennis tournament in connection with the EUR 300+ million sale of the rights to the combined ATP Masters 1000 and WTA tournament in Madrid, together with related assets and interests, to a global sports and entertainment group, including advice on post-closing, earn-out and performance-related matters;
- one of Romania’s leading private healthcare groups in connection with the acquisition of a specialised medical services network operating in several niche areas of healthcare;
- a leading international pharmaceutical company in connection with the sale of its Romanian pharmaceutical retail and wholesale operations to a major European pharmacy group;
- a leading Central European energy group in connection with its participation in a competitive process for the acquisition of the companies operating a 108 MW wind farm project in Romania;
- one of Romania’s largest utility companies in connection with a contemplated consortium acquisition of a major international energy group’s Romanian assets.
