If an employee cares for a disabled person, and the medical-psycho-social criteria for classification as disabled are met, he/she will be able to receive 30 calendar days of leave per year, but only if the employee is covered by at least 6 months’ insurance in the last year.
To be granted this type of leave, it is necessary to draw up a disability classification file, therefore the disabled person, accompanied by the employee, will have to attend specialist medical evaluations, including psychological ones. Other investigations are also required
The allowance for leave to care for a disabled person will be 85% of the calculation basis, which, according to GEO 158/2005, is, in principle, the average of the gross monthly income over the last six months.
