In January this year, the new nomenclature of specialisations in forensic technical appraisal came into force, comprising 90 specialisations. The nomenclature takes into account developments in society as a whole and the needs of the judicial system. New specialisations have been added, such as “business valuation”.
The new nomenclature of forensic technical expertise specialisations was developed as part of the “Guide to forensic technical appraisal specialisations” project and entered into force on 19 January 2024.
The Guide deals with the specialisations in the order set out in the Nomenclature and includes, for each specialisation, sections on legal aspects, description of the specialisation, related specialisations, competences of the forensic expert, suggestions for specific objectives of the specialisation, authorisations or certificates relevant to the specialisation, as well as other types of appraisals and competent organisations in the field.
