Alex is the co-Managing Partner of Filip & Company. He has previously worked for seven years in the Bucharest, London and Paris offices of a Magic Circle firm. He has advised on a wide range of landmark transactions in Romania in M&A, capital markets and complex finance. Alex is ranked in Band 1 by Chambers Europe and is listed as a leading individual in Hall of fame by Legal 500.
Highlights of his activity include assisting:
- a leading regional telecommunications and media group, in connection with the sale of DIGI Távközlési Szolgáltató Ltd. and of its subsidiaries Invitel, I TV and DIGI Infrastructure towards 4iG, active on the IT and telecommunications market in Hungary;
- the Romanian manufacturer of biodegradable and compostable packaging in the sale of 24% of their shares to Pavăl Holding;
- a global independent video game developer in securing a USD 20 million financing from an investment fund advised by Emona Capital LLP;
- a market leader in logistics technology solutions owned by Abris Capital Partners (“Abris”), the ESG transformation specialist private equity investor, in the acquisition of a majority shareholding in Innoship, the leading Central European provider of advanced technology solutions that optimize last-mile management for E-Commerce merchants;
- a joint-stock company in the sale of its entire shareholding in OMV Petrom S.A., consisting of 1,777,067,726 ordinary shares, through an accelerated private placement launched on Tuesday, 13 December;
- an investment fund in the acquisition of a minority stake in the company operating the UNTOLD group, the largest player in the Eastern European entertainment market.
