Bogdan is a member of our Dispute Resolution and Arbitration team with relevant experience in arbitration, commercial litigation and administrative litigation. Core experience includes complex arbitration proceedings, including cross-border disputes, as well as high-profile commercial and administrative disputes. Multiple projects in which Bogdan was involved, required exploring new paths and identifying innovative solutions.
Highlights of his activity include assisting:
- Romania in a USD 850 million ICSID arbitration arising out of the petrochemical industry, involving allegations of breach of the Energy Charter Treaty;
- one of the largest insurance companies from Romania, now in bankruptcy, in multiple arbitration proceedings valued at approximately EUR 200 million against reinsurers from Barbados, Cayman Islands and Puerto Rico for breach of reinsurance agreements;
- one of the largest oil and gas companies in Central and Eastern Europe on the recognition and enforcement of an arbitral award;
- a Romanian regulatory authority in multiple high-stakes disputes brought by a major insurance market player, now in bankruptcy, challenging the authority’s decision to revoke its operating license for breach of insurance regulations, including claims for suspension and annulment of the revocation;
- a major player in the healthcare industry in litigation seeking the suspension and annulment of regulatory provisions that directly affected the client’s ability to conduct its business operations.
