Eduard is a Romanian law qualified lawyer and an associate in the Dispute Resolution team. He has been involved in complex litigation and arbitration proceedings in practice areas that include insurance, enforcement, service abroad and other civil and administrative matters.
Highlights of his activity include assisting:
- one of the biggest historical players in the Romanian insurance market in arbitral proceedings against reinsurers from Cayman Islands and Barbados, seeking damages of more than EUR 200 million;
- a major Bank that operates in the Romanian market in complex disputes arising from the destruction of an immovable asset in which the Bank was operating. Eduard was heavily involved in preparing the strategy for a dispute which also had reputational relevance for the client, as the incident was heavily reported in the local media;
- a major international player with enforcing an international arbitral award in Romania. Actively involved in several related proceedings, including matters requiring expertise on the service abroad of judicial and extrajudicial documents in civil or commercial matters;
- one of the main financial regulatory authorities in Romania in disputes regarding the withdrawal of the operating licence detained by one of the biggest players in the Romanian insurance market;
- one of the most important retailers in Romania in challenging Romanian authorities’ measures regarding consumer protection issues.
