Specialising in commercial arbitration and litigation, he has built an impressive track record in difficult matters and niche areas, including energy, construction, telecom, insurance and capital markets. He is also recognised for his work on tax procedure (including a book in co-authorship) and praised for his results in anti-trust disputes.
Highlights of his activity include assisting:
- a major oil & gas producer in recognising and enforcing an USD 5 billion PCA award against a sovereign;
- a national Romanian governmental agency in proceedings against Euroins Romania (the largest motor third party liability insurer at its time);
- a general insurance company’s creditors in five arbitrations and one litigation worth more than EUR 400 million in aggregate;
- a highly specialized EPC Contractor in an international commercial dispute against a major oil & gas service provider;
- a multinational corporation and technology company in a GDPR case regarding third party access to mobile data;
- a leading global insurance organization in an insurance claim initiated by Radisson hotel operators for Covid-19 disruption;
- the largest online card payment processor in a dispute over the role of the company in the insolvency of major online sales platform Elefant.ro.
