Irina is a member of our litigation and arbitration team. With an outstanding academic and public speaking background, Irina gained an impressive level of experience in complex international arbitration projects, proceedings before foreign courts as well as commercial and administrative litigation. Irina is also an external collaborator at the Faculty of Law, University of Bucharest on Administrative Law.
Highlights of his activity include assisting:
- Romania in an ICSID arbitration arising in the petrochemical industry and involving allegations of breach of the Energy Charter Treaty;
- a foreign construction group ranked among the top 100 international contractors in a multi-million FIDIC based arbitration case against the Romanian Railway Carrier (CFR) and currently assisting the same client in the annulment action against the arbitral award;
- the owner of an elite tennis tournament in a dispute against the Women’s Tennis Association that involved court and arbitration proceedings in 4 different jurisdictions: Romania, Cyprus, Spain and the United States;
- one of the largest food products manufacturers in court proceedings challenging a decision issued by the Romanian Competition Council for anticompetitive practices on the retail market.
