Silviu Vasile is a partner at Filip & Company and focuses on EU law, consumer and competition law, also heading the firm’s pharmaceutical and life sciences practice, bringing extensive experience in antitrust matters and commitments procedures before the Romanian Competition Council, merger control, compliance work across various industries, unfair competition cases, and foreign direct investments assessment and clearance before the authorities.
Highlights of his activity include assisting:
- a leading Romanian bank, in two ongoing antitrust investigations by the Romanian Competition Council concerning the ROBOR/ROBID benchmarks and the FICO score in consumer lending;
- a major insurance group, in a Romanian Competition Council investigation into an alleged exchange of sensitive information between insurers, and in the subsequent court challenge;
- one of the largest vehicle importers, in an investigation launched by the Romanian Competition Council into alleged anti-competitive practices on the market for vehicle repair services and sale of spare parts;
- a leading cash services company, on compliance with commitments approved by the Romanian Competition Council following three major banks becoming its shareholders;
- a leading pharmaceutical group, on a range of competition law and regulatory matters, including distribution and contract manufacturing agreements;
- the largest online marketplace in Romania, with respect to day-to-day competition law compliance;
- an important apparel manufacturer, on the restructuring of its contractual framework for its Romanian stores and franchise business model, as well as on its yearly terms and conditions for the Romanian business;
- one of the largest IT integrators, with respect to the Romanian Competition Council’s CISCO investigation on the market for IT and communication equipment.
